Well I picked up a new Al-572 a few months back.
Its a good amp and works for me.
Now I have heard some good and bad things about them.
I have had no gas arcs as of yet.
Now I have heard people say that they can get 1500 watts out of these amps on 110 vac.
I highly doubt that, nor would I recommend it either.
They are only rated at 1300w and thats pushing the tubes hard.
Now as for me I can only get about 1100w out of mine.
However thats on a non dedicated 110 line.
So I only run the amp at around 800w for best linearity and it preforms flawlessly.
Would I suggest someone buying one yes if you want to run between 800-1000 clean watts.
The 811H is also a good amp run at about 600w.
Anyone else have a al-572, whatch think about it.

Ive never owned an amp. Not even when I was a errrr a cb'r. I know alot of guys use amps for constesting and such, but I cant see the point in having one if ya dont contest. I did fine with only 75 watts of power when I had a rig in my truck years ago. In fact I got my 10-10 number from contacts all out of the mobile. 71533. All with a 102" stainless steel whip!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps thats not as great a feat as saying WAS but its something!!!! Someday Ill get another goal Im shooting for is to work all grids in the US on 6 and 2 meters. Out of the mobile!!!!

Well I dont do a lot of contesting but I do a lot of 75m ragchew and it helped out a lot.
I know an antenna is better solution than an amp, it was an impulse buy,
.
But its mine now so I use it.
