Well it all started with my grandpa.
You see when I was growing up my grandparents were getting it to Amateur radio so naturally i was around it.
I went to bed almost every night listening to my grandfathers 757GX.
Soon I had a slight interest in Ham radio so I studied the code and low and behold I passed.
This was in the mid 90s, but anyway I then took my written test and darn I failed.
Well I let this discourage me and never went back to retake it. (dumb mistake)
so a few year went past and my grandma AA3MW passed away.
This led me and my grandpa into a spiraling depression.
So grandpa said "let go on a road trip to ease our minds".
Thats exactly what we did about three days later.
We went on a thirteen day road trip to meet some of his ham buddies.
While on this trip I ventured into the wonderful world of Amateur Radio.
And let me tell you when the bug bit me it bit me hard.
Back to the story, I met an amazing group of individuals form which I learned a lot.
I saw so many amazing radios form all vintages.
so One of these "HAMS" Gave me a Tech book and I studied it religiously.
So I eventually got my Ticket in 04-06-04 and then upgraded in 03-05-07.
Its a hobby iv used every night since.
So whats your story.

Well my story is the same as Kb3laz's.
We both used to stay at our Grandparents so of course I was bound to picking up this hobby too.
So when i got my ticket on 02-22-06 I was using it for the next couple years.
Right now I am waiting to move so I will be able to Use my radios again with more room for my antenna's.
I like this hobby it's a great way to meet people across the country.

I actually got my push into Amateur Radio from my grade 11 shop teacher, Russell Stark SK, who was then VE7BEP.He made the theory look easy. That was in 1976.I attended 2 years of community college and graduated with a certificate in electronics technology in 1980.Unfortunately I was'nt able to find time to take the Canadian Amateur exam until 1985! Passed it on my first go and have been enjoying Ham radio, time permitting, since then.I've been licenced 23 years now.... it can never get stale for me!
